VS have struggled this season with just two points from 11 matches but Dobbo, who came through the ranks at City making 54 appearances and scoring one goal, has said that he could give the job the time it required and has resigned.
Dobson was in his second spell as manager of Rugby and has also managed City U15's and Solihull Borough.
