Coventry City manager Iain Dowie will be forced to wheel and deal if he wants to improve the Sky Blues squad in the current transfer window.
Following the latest part of the takeover by Ray Ranson and SISU Equity, the City boss has been told that he will have to wheel and deal rather than have sums of cash at his disposal.
Dowie Forced To Wheel And Deal
Said Dowie to the CT: "I have spoken to Ray and he is taking a long-term view here. "When he is talking about how to take the club forward he is really talking about a serious shake up in the summer rather than now.
"I would rather it be now but he has got a lot to do between now and then, so if we are going to do anything I think we will have to raise funds ourselves.
"So from that point of view, it probably won't be as much as we thought initially.

"Ray has had a list from me but I think he is more of a view to do that in the summer, which is probably different to what I was led to believe but there is obviously a very intricate situation going on with the club.
"It's a fluid situation that can change all the time but I don't think we will be going out and spending like Leicester, QPR and Ipswich, so we won't be spending millions in the market unless we raise some funds.
"It is a case of wheeling and dealing but we have worked with next to no finances since we have been here and if we are going to have to tough it out for the next six months then that's the case. "But what is important is that the club carries on because that is more important than anything else."
