Coventry City manager Iain Dowie was full of praise for Leon Best who scored twice this afternoon against Barnsley in a 4-0 win for the Sky Blues.
"Leon deserves a lot of credit," said Dowie to the club website. "He was a handful throughout the ninety minutes and although he has not watched it back on the video yet, he doesn't think there was much wrong with the 'third' ruled out for offside. "If that's the case then it's a shame because he deserved a hat-trick.
"I had no doubt in my mind that Leon Best wants to play for this club. He was turned by the opportunity to play for his hometown club, which is understandable, but he's given me everything in training and he took that into the match today.
"He's now set the standard for himself and he has to keep that up."
"It was a well deserved win and I thought everybody in the team worked hard for it. "We looked bright from the start, but one of the most important things was that we kept our composure at the back and kept a clean-sheet."
