Coventry City boss Iain Dowie is hoping his Sky Blues side will have good backing from supporters in City's two home games before Christmas.

Speaking after City's draw against Scunthorpe on Tuesday attracted the lowest ever gate since the Sky Blues moved to the Arena in August 2005, Dowie to the CT: "It is mystifying and one would always feel that people would come out in times of adversity. "Maybe that will happen this weekend but I can't comment on other people.

"I know it's Christmas time and people are hard pressed. "It is not for me to comment how to spend their money but we would love to see them turn up in bigger numbers."

Another game that City supporters will have to buy tickets before Christmas for, is the FA Cup Third Round. Coventry have been given the number 14 ball in the draw to be made tomorrow at 3.15pm and shown live on the BBC and Radio 5 Live.
