Coventry City manager Iain Dowie is hoping that he won't be forced by the Board to sell any players to help the club meet a bank payment due at the end of August.
Dowie Hoping For No Sales
Gary McSheffrey and Callum Davenport were two such players who were sold in order to make the payment and the City boss has said that he would not be happy if he had to sell any of his star players this time round.
He did admit to the CT that there had been interest in one player and said: "I have had a brief conversation with someone about a player but it has not yet come to fruition and if it does it is not someone who has started in either of the two Championship games we have played,
"Other than that no we haven't had any more interest and it's a good job. "You always worry it is getting near the end of the window and you get an offer that, because of the financial situation, is out of your hands.
"That's the worst scenario. It hasn't happened and touch wood it won't but it would be something I would look very unfavourably on. "If, all of a sudden, I got a call from the powers that be to say so and so has to go, I think that would be a real blow for everyone at the club.
"We understand not being able to bring people in but I think all the players here feel that we have done well in the free market. "And we want to keep that nucleus together, and the players who go, if there are any that go - and I hope that is not going to happen - they will be the ones who are not in my immediate plans."
