Dowie On Blackpool Shambles

Iain Dowie was less seething than most of the City support who had paid good money to watch what was a shambles at Blackpool.

Said Dowie to the club website: "We can't concede the goals in the way we did, the way they cut us open at times was laughable. "I'm not singling anybody else but we have got to be better.

We began the second half well but we've then conceded the second goal and that's been our Achilles heel this season. "There were no cuts or marks to Barker's face but that's the generation we live in where players hit the ground early."

But what goes around comes around I suppose because I think we could have lost David McNamee through a bad tackle just before which could have been a straight red.

"That's probably the worst we've played during my time here, not just because of the way we conceded the goals, but because we pride ourselves on being a footballing side and our discipline was no where near good enough today."
