Dowie Waits On McNamee

Coventry City manager Iain Dowie is waiting on tests on right back David McNamee. The Scot suffered a calf strain in the 26th minute of City's 1-1 draw with Espanyol on Tuesday night and had to be replaced.

"Dave's calf tightened up and that gives us a bit of a dilemma at right-back," said Dowie to the club website, "We will have to wait for the scans to find out if it's serious or not, but I feel for Dave because he's had a horrendous time with injuries ever since he joined the club."

Chris Birchall has filed in at right back this pre-season and may start the season there unless the City boss can bring someone in on a loan or swap deal.
