Former Coventry City midfielder Michael Doyle is backing Chris Morgan to become the next manager of Sheffield United.
Morgan took over as caretaker when Danny Wilson left and speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield, Doyle said aboput Morgan: "I think he'd be a popular appointment because he's been around us for a long time.
"He's been on the coaching staff for the last couple of years and you can see him growing all the time and he is going to be a really successful manager.
"We were all shocked when Danny went but he really lifted the group and the performance in the win over Swindon in his first game was probably one of our best of the season.
"He had a chat with us last week and he was very frank and said there'd be changes if he got the job, so we'll have to see what happens."
