Michael Doyle has said it was the right time to leave Coventry City and Mickey Adams made the decision easier.
Doyle, whose contract with Coventry was due to expire in the summer, had been with the Sky Blues for seven and a half years, although he had spent much of last season on loan.
Doyle said: "It was a hard decision because I felt like part of the furniture at Coventry, but it was the time in my life to have a change."
"Once I knew Micky Adams was interested, I knew this was where I wanted to be. I want to play my part in helping this club stay in the division. When Micky came in at Coventry, the club was also in a similar position. He turned things around there and we went on a great run."
"It took a lot of character and organisation and Micky also brought in a few experienced players that helped massively."
