Doyle To Boothroyd's Liking

Evidence of how managers see players differently can be seen in Coventry City's Michael Doyle.

Under Chris Coleman, Doyle was banished on a season long loan to then League One club Leeds United for the whole of last season and would have been allowed to leave the Ricoh Arena if Simon Grayson had put in a decent bid for him.

However, that did not happen and the Irishman returned to Coventry and started the new season under new manager Aidy Boothroyd.

Although, appearances for Doyle have been limited this season, the midfielder is still very much in the plans of Aidy Boothroyd who was quoted as saying before Doyle hit a 25 yarder to give City a 1-0 victory over Burnley yesterday: "Michael Doyle is terrific.

"He's Coventry through and through., loves the club and has been the ultimate professional."
