Wasps CEO Nick Eastwood has said that the Ricoh Arena pitch will be fine.
Reports say the newly laid pitch cut up badly during Wasps 48-16 victory over London Irish but Nick Eastwood told the Coventry Telegraph's Simon Gilbert: “It cut up about around the scrums, but we expected that. The players said the pitch was perfect.
“You have 16 big guys, and nearly 200 metric tonnes, on the pitch during scrums. That’s a lot of beef on the pitch.
“If it’s given more time to bed down it should be fine for the rest of the season. We had concerns, but I think it will be fine.
“A lot of good pitches cut up during the winter.”
