Freddie Eastwood can't wait to kick start his Coventry City career after completing his move to the Ricoh Arena on Saturday.

The striker has been more or less banished to Wolves reserves team by Mick McCarthy and faced an uncertain future at Molineux before Chris Coleman made a long protracted move for the Basildon Boy, who qualifies for Wales via his Grandmother.

Said Eastwood at a press conference this morning before he left to get the coach to Luton Airport:"Obviously I was disappointed with the way it turned out at Wolves.

"I thought I played really well but not getting a place on a regular basis is the reason why I left.

"It's good to be coming to a club like Coventry with management that has ambition. I can't wait for the season to start and looking forward to going out to Switzerland, meeting the lads and getting going."

Chris Coleman said: "I've been chasing Freddy for the last three months on and off. Now the deal is done, we are really delighted to have a quality player, it's been well worth the wait. "We have a Welsh international, a number nine, who's there on merit and is a player who scores goals, goes at defenders and is the ideal one for our system."

Eastwood is expected to make his debut for the Sky Blues on Wednesday in a friendly against Romanian side FC Brasov at FC La Combe's ground in Martigny in Southern Switzerland.
