Steve Staunton looks likely not to have his contract renewed when it expires at the end of the season.
The Irish international joined City from Aston Villa on wages that at the time broke the club's pay structure and with the left back position seemingly covered by the acquision of Marcus Hall, Staunton's days now appear numbered.
He has said that he would like to play for one more season and his advisors are believed to looking at a number of clubs. A possible coaching role also interests Staunton who has been taking his FA License badges and this may be something he does in the future.
