Peterborough United have sacked manager Steve Evans and replaced him with Darren Ferguson.
The Scot, who proved to be a pain for the Fourth Official during the game against Coventry City at the Ricoh Arena, which earned him a ban, was released yesterday along with Assistant manager Paul Raynor with immediate effect.
Peterborough have acted quickly and replaced the pair with former boss Darren Ferguson and former Coventry City youngster Gavin Strachan who made sixteen appearances for City and scored in a League Cup tie at Preston North End and has been involved with Peterborough as a coach on numerous occasions.
Ferguson told The Posh's club website: We have a game at Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night and all our focus now is on that game. Like I have always said, it is about what we do, how we play. I am delighted to be back and looking forward to these 17 games.
“Gavin has probably been back more times than me! We work very closely together. He knows how I work and knows the club well too.”
