Coventry City manager Steven Pressley said thhat he thought his side were excellent in the first half of their 2-2 draw with Rochdale.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Alan Poole, Pressley said: "I thought we were excellent in the first half. We’ve been talking this week about transitional play and that was very evident; we were much quicker on the counter-attack and we looked capable of scoring goals – apart from the two we got we created a number of other opportunities.
“In the second half they made a slight tactical change, brought two midfielders off the game and started to get control between out strikers and our midfield line. It took us 15-20 minutes before we got to grips with that and went on a higher press and in the remaining 15-20 minutes you could see both sides were desperate to win the game and it was a bit like a basketball game.”
Pressley was delighted with debutants Dominic Samuel and Samni Odelus and added ”The big ingredient we’ve been missing is speed and we had that today.
“Dominic’s finish was sensational – terrific play by Frank Nouble to put Jim O’Brien through and a typical striker following up – and he had a great opportunity in the second half as well.
“Sanmi did really well but after 55/60 minutes he was tiring.”
