Fans Say No To Winter Breaks

According to a poll carried out by the Football Supporters Federation, football supporters do not want a winter break.

With temperatures in Coventry and throughout Britain in the minus figures over the last few days and snow in verying amounts, there have been the usual calls for football to have a winter break.

However, a poll, carried out by the FSF found that 69% of those who responded to their poll don't want a winter break.

Seen by some as merely an excuse for the top sides in the country to jet off to sunnier climbs and pick up large sums for playing friendlies, most supporters seem happy with the tradition of having matches over Christmas and the New Year period which has been with us since the Football League started.
