The winger has been released by Wolverhampton Wanderers and is Scottish.

He started his career as a youngster with Hamilton before joining Wolves in 2015 and playing for their U23's in between a loan at Dunfermline.

Armstrong played 45 minutes for City at Sutton United but since then has been involved with the U23's.

Speaking about him, Jason Farndon told the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner: “He’s a busy player. “He’s played in Scotland and been at Wolves where he was offered a contract and then it changed, so he’s come in on trial. “He’s 20 so at our football club should be more around the first team because we don’t tend to have very old Under-23s, so let’s see how he goes. “He’s in for two or three weeks.”
