Fellow Supporters Rally To Coventry Plight

Last updated : 15 July 2013 By SBT

The Sky Blue Trust has been in contact with their fellow Trusts around the country and is receiving great support for the plight faced by the supporters of Coventry City. They all appreciate the ridiculous situation of playing matches 35 miles away from your home city when there is a stadium standing there ready to be utilised.

Prior to Saturday’s game at Liberty Way, Steve Brown and Jan Mokrzycki, board members of the Sky Blue Trust, met with their counterparts from the Nuneaton Town Supporters Co-operative. NTSC Chair John Hobson said that “We fully sympathise with the situation being faced by fellow fans from across the M6. We add our voice to the call for sanity to prevail, for an agreement to be reached and for the Sky Blues to kick off at the Ricoh Arena for the sake of their loyal supporters.”

Coventry City’s first home match is against Bristol City and Stuart Rogers, Chairman of the Bristol City Supporters Club and Trust has given the Sky Blue Trust and the club fans his backing.

He told the Trust “We will be writing to the Football League to express our dismay at the decision they have made to allow the owners of your club to move to Northampton. We will also make our fans aware of the situation so that they can make an informed decision about attending the match. I will not be attending along with other members of the Trust board”

The Sky Blue Trust will continue in its unstinting efforts to Keep Coventry in Coventry and are gratified and pleased with the support from fellow fans of other clubs.
