Coventrry City CEO Tim Fisher has said that he expect the new stadium to take less than a year to build.
Writing in his programme notes for the game against Walsall, Mr Fisher, who has been in the shadows recently as he is working on the new stadium, wrote: "Our plan centres completely around our new stadium and I have been working hard on with our advisors to move the project on at pace.
"There is frustration, I understand, that fans want to know locations, and timescales and we are unable to disclose at this stage those details.
"When it comes to timings, we believe the build will take less than one year, but obviously, we have to buy the land first and then obtain planning permission so an exact time-line cannot be set out at this stage.
"I am keen that I don't reveal any detail that could jeopardise a deal because the new stadium is crucial to the future of this football club, I am sure people understand that stance.
"The starting capacity we will now look at 15,000, but again this is flexible, especially if we hope we are back in the Championship at the point of building.
"I completely understand that there are some who won't believe the new stadium is going ahead until they know the location; we have bought a site; we have started the build.
"I get that but I can only re-iterate that building and owning our stadium is the only way forward for the club to be masters of their own destiny and to have a long term sustainable future."
