New Coventry City fitness coach Mick Rathbone has said that he has been impressed with the fitness levels of the City players.
The former head of medicine at Everton who has a new book out, has replaced Andy O’Brien on a temporary basis and told Sky Blue Player: "I've got my own business and I also do a lot work with the England youth team but I was only saying to someone recently, that I have missed the day-to-day action of working with a football club.
"This opportunity with Coventry City then came up and I grabbed it with both hands. The timing was perfect.
“I know both Andy and Steve really well - they are two fantastic blokes who know the game inside out.
"They've made sure the lads are in good shape coming back into pre-season - gone are the days when players could come back unfit.
"But I have been very impressed with the lads here. They look very fit and strong for this stage of pre-season and that bodes well."
