Former Coventry City loanee Chris McGuire has joined Bury.

McGuire, had been at Oxford and played in the EFL Ttophy Final at Wembley against Coventry City in a spell which saw him score seventeen times in 54 appearances.

McGuire was offered a new deal by Oxford but rejected it and has signed for Bury on a two year deal.

Bury manager Lee Clark told the Bury's club website: "Chris is a player that I identified very early in the off-season as a player that I would want to recruit.

"The chairman and I flew up to his home area in Aberdeen to have talks with the player about the possibility of him coming to Bury.

"He obviously had many offers to consider so we are delighted he has chosen us."

Meanwhile, former Coventry City midfielder Jim O'Brien has signed a two year deal with Ross County.

O'Brien had been at Shrewsbury who had loaned him to the Scottish Premier League side since January.

Speaking to Ross County's club website, manager Jim McIntyre said: "I'm delighted to bring Jim back to Dingwall on a permanent deal.

"He played a part in helping us achieve our goals in the second half of last season and he wants to come and play for us.

"At 29 years of age he has lots of experience and qualities that can help bring on the younger players in our squad."
