Former Coventry City loanee Charles Vernam has joined Grimsby Town on loan.
Grimsby Town boss Russell Slade has swooped to take a player, whom he had at the Ricoh Arena last season, on loan for the rest of the season.
"I was a youngster at Scunthorpe, I came through their system until I went to Derby at 16," Vernam said to Grimsby's club website.
"I'm a local lad, I know what this club means to a lot of people so I'm hoping I can prove myself and show the fans that I'm good enough to play at this level.
I live pretty local which is good as well, I went to school at Caistor (in Lincolnshire) so all my friends were fans of Grimsby and still are so I know what it means to a lot of people so, hopefully, I can do well.
"I hadn't played much men's football before that so going there (to Coventry City) was really important. "I didn't play as many games as I would have liked and I picked up a few injuries but hopefully coming here I can put that right and do well for the club."
