Former Coventry City loanee Craig Hignett has been appointed assistant to Head Coach Aitor Karanka at Middlesbrough FC.
Hignett had been assistant at Hartlepool United working with Colin Cooper but has returned to a Riverside Stadium, a ground where he scored the first ever goal in a league game against Chelsea, to take up a new role.
We're delighted that Craig has decided to join us and I'm sure everyone will join us in welcoming him back to the club," Middlesbrough CEO Neil Bausor told the club's official website. "We firmly believe that Craig's experience is a great fit for us and will make an excellent addition to our coaching staff."
