Former Coventry City loanee Stephen Warnock has been released by Wigan Athletic.
Warnock joined Wigan from Derby County after an initial loan spell and he wrote on Twitter: "It's not a nice feeling to say goodbye after such a bad season and one I was hoping to correct next season.
"So many highs and lows in 15 months.
"I'd like to thank Gary [Caldwell] for bringing me to the club, and his staff. To the chairman for giving me the opportunity. To everyone behind the scenes who have helped, a big thanks.
"It's been a privilege to captain the club.
"Thanks to the fans and their continued support to both myself and the team.
"I would like to wish Wigan every success in the future and hope they can regain promotion to the Championship.
"I will now look for another challenge in my career. Whether that be in England or abroad. I'm excited at what lies ahead."
