Former City Player Loses England Manager's Job

Former Coventry City defender Sam Allardyce has lost his job as manager of the England national football team.

Allardyce has offered to resign during a meeting with FA bosses after  investigation by The Daily Telegraph brought to light claims that he used his position to negotiate a £400,000 deal and give advice to businessmen on how to get around Football Association rules on player transfers.

Allardyce has been in the job for 67 days and had won one game in charge which England won 1-0.

The FA has said that Allardyce's conduct was inappropriate and it ws mutally agreed that he will leave his job. Gareth Southgate will take charge of the team for the next four games.
