Former Coventry City and England goalkeeper Chris Kirkland looks set to move to local rivals Leicester City.
Kirkland, now at Wigan, is set for a loan move to The Walkers, a move which he hopes to make permanent by the end of the season.
Kirkland, a former Covsupport Young Player Of The Year winner during his time at Highfield Road, has slipped from being Wigan's first choice 'keeper now that Roberto Martinez has Ali Al Habsi on a loan and is likely to sign him permanently from Bolton.
Kirkland's move to Leicester is conditional on Al Habsi signing for Wigan permanently and for Leicester to be pushing for a play off place, but as Wigan chairman Dave Whelan is trying to trim his wage bill, a move is more likely than not.
Kirkland made his international debut for England under the current Leicester manager Sven Goran Eriksson.
