Coventry City have dropped to fourteenth in the Championship table after the 1-0 home defeat by Sheffield United.
Watford's lead at the top is down to one point from West Brom. The Hornets were beaten 2-1 at Vicarage Road by Bristol City whilst an own goal earned West Brom,who play City on Tuesday a 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace.
Stern John scored for Southampton in a 2-1 win at Leicester whilst Darren Huckerby netted for bottom side Norwich who lost 2-1 at Stoke City. Stephen McPhee scored for Hull in a 2-2 home draw with Cardiff City.
There were also wins for Blackpool,Burnley, Plymouth,Colchester and Wolves.
In the FA Cup, Lee Hughes hit the winner for Oldham against Crewe.The only shock saw Havant & Waterlooville win 1-0 at Notts County.
A good week for Nuneaton boss Kevin Wilkin ended with a win. The Treacle Town boss has been named Manager Of The Month for the Conference North and this afternoon his side beat Vauxhall Motors 2-0 at Liberty Way.
In the Southern League, Rugby Town were beat 4-0 in a Premier Division game at Bromsgrove Rovers. In the Midland Division, leaders Leamington were held to a 0-0 draw by Evesham but Bedworth won 1-0 at Woodford United.
Coventry Sphinx will need to rapidly improve ahead of their FA Vase game against Oldbury next Saturday. Paul Charnley's side lost 2-0 at Barwell this afternoon. Other Midland Alliance results saw Stratford win 6-0 at Cradley, Racing Club Warwick beat Coalville 3-1 with Atherstone losing to Biddulph 2-1.
In the Midland Combination Premier Division, a Chris Partridge goal gave Coventry Sphinx a 1-0 home win against Walsall Wood.
Goals from Graham and Kerr gave second placed Southam a 2-1 win at Bolehall Swifts. Nuneaton Griff beat Pershore 2-1 with Massey Ferguson drawing 2-2 at Pilkington.
In Division One, Stockingford beat Fairfield 2-1 but Leamington Hibernian's game at Thimblemill was abandoned due to an injury.
In the CT Cup, Kenilworth Town won 6-0 at Coundon Court.
The National League System Cup tie at Coventry Sphinx FC saw the Midland Combination beat the Herfordshire Senior League 3-1.
