Coventry City defender Jordan Clarke has explained his frustrated tweet.
The tweet "Can't even say what I wana say on here. The frustration is building and building. F**** pathetic, end F**** off" has been retweeted over fifty times, but Clarke has explained that he was not having a go at the City management or staff, unlike many of the disgruntled City support at the Racecourse Ground .
Coventry born Clarke who was one of the few City players to come out with any credit from the 4-1 defeat at Wrexham told the CT's Andy Turner: “As a professional, I want to win every game I play in – whether it’s pre-season or not – and that’s two or three games that we have lost now.
“I am frustrated by that. Totally frustrated and annoyed by it because I don’t want to go all the way to Wrexham and take a battering. “I am sure all supporters would want the players to feel this way.
“I am angry with myself and, as a team, we are all frustrated by the last couple of results and I don’t think our supporters would expect anything different.”
“The manager has put massive faith in me over the past year or so and has brought me through so I would never bad mouth him on Twitter or anywhere else for that matter. The same goes for the rest of the coaching staff.
“Of course, you prefer to make your mistakes in pre-season rather than when the real season starts but I can’t hide the fact that I want to be winning those games and I want myself and the team to be playing at the highest standard.”
