Speaking to Sky Blue Player, the City manager said: "Gary has been promoted before so he knows what it's like to win and I'm sure he's under plenty of pressure from his family because they are all Coventry supporters as well.
"In Gary I see a better player than the one that left the club four years ago because of the experience he has gained along the way and I intend to get some goals out of him."
On full-back O'Halloran who will join from Aston Villa, Boothroyd commented:"Stephen has showed great determination to fight his way back from a knee injury two years ago which is good for me because you need that determined streak and Stephen definitely has it.
