Gary McSheffrey has thanked all City supporters for his backing whilst at the club. The Coventry born striker told the club website: "I would like to thank the fans for everything they have done for me over the last seven years, their support has seen me through difficult times and I want them to know how much I appreciate that.
Gary Thanks The Fans
"It would be great to be welcomed back by the fans and I hope they will remember the good times we went through together and I always gave my best for the Club and the fans, and I have so many amazing memories of my time at City and they will never go.
"I'll never forget how it felt to play for my boyhood team and I think the one thing that will always stick in my mind will be the last game at Highfield Road, which was an unbelievable occasion. I'd had some hard times earlier in the season and before that but the supporters always stuck by me and that day was for them
"I know that some supporters will be disappointed by this but City are on the up and with all the new faces added in the summer the Club will be able to look forward this season for sure."
