George Thomas has said that he is ready to play for Coventry City if called upon.
“The team is going to be going into every game from now until the end of the season looking for the win because you never know what could happen,” Thomas told the Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter.
“If it doesn’t happen (play-offs) then maybe with the last few games the manager might try a few of the young lads and I’ll be chomping at the bit to get on.
“The manager always talks to us. We spoke at the beginning of the season and we spoke again recently.
“The three or four years we’ve been here full-time we’ve had two good managers who have taken an interest in the youth and watched our under-21 games.
“It is helping because we know that we’re close to the first team, especially when we’re there training with them everyday.
“I’m on the fringe, it could be the under-21s, it could be the first team, it depends on numbers. He said that if he had to throw me in there he trusts me to deal with that so whenever I get the chance I just need to make sure I’m ready.”
