Get Off Aidy's Back

GET OFF AIDY'S BACK BY PAUL MCKAY

Do some fans honestly believe Aidy has only one style of football? What game since January have we played long ball football? I haven't seen it.

Against Doncaster, we didn't and for the first 45 minutes we kept and used the ball well with two wingers. I do think we would have made the play offs if we had kept the back bone of the team. The spine has been hit and there's only so many times you can play players out of position.

Also against Doncaster we didn't have our first choice keeper, left back, centre backs, only one of the centre mids and only possibly one of our forwards in the starting 11. What more do you people expect Aidy to do?

Since December he's had too many injuries for us to mount a challenge. That's not about tactics or playing long ball football.

We've had more shots on/off target then most if not all the other sides. That's shows the tactics are working but we can't finish.

We've got four strikers who haven't scored enough goals and the same with the midfield. A number of goals have come from the centre backs from set pieces. That's shows good tactics.

I can't see us going down and with the results going for us tonight any talk of a relegation battle and trips to Walsall and the Posh are way of the mark.

There's a team sprit and togetherness that he is building. The 258 away fans at Doncaster backed him and the team. In the second half when they bad to dig deep no one moaned. To a player they gave 100% and given the injuries no one could have asked for more.

Richard Wood was outstanding and led the team. He isn't a left back but he put in a commanding performance. With the resources we've got and the players that are available is the football that bad?

Are Leeds or Norwich playing better football? They are in the top six but I can't say they are a better footballing side. QPR, are a class act maybe apart from them and Forest I haven't seen anyone play us off the park. Leicester didn't, same with Swansea and certainly Bristol City didn't.

Play up Sky Blues
