Newcastle United legend Malcolm McDonald has said that the Geordies should off-load former Coventry City striker Leon Best in the summer.
Best joined Newcastle United for a fee reported to be around £500k (although believe what you want) in January but has failed to set Tyneside alight.
Speaking to the Chronicle Live, McDonald said: "Even when he came from Coventry City, I had serious doubts about whether he was even good enough for the Championship.
"To be fair, we haven't seen an awful lot of him, because Carroll and Lovenkrands were keeping him out of the team. "But when he did get the odd chance he didn't convince me.
"My advice to Newcastle this summer would be to get a nice little deal sorted to get him back to the Championship, and put him out of his misery."
