The Coventry born defender had a brilliant season for City Reserves and had just made his way into the first team during the McAllister/Black era when a series of injuries were sustained.
However, Giddings who appeared in City's 2-1 win at Glentoran on Tuesday is determined that this season will be his best yet. "I want to get back to where I was when I was 18 and getting myself started in the first team with a run in the side," said Giddings to the CT.
"Each manager has kept faith with me and I wouldn't have blamed any of them if they had said it is time to move on.
"But hopefully they have seen what I can do in training and know that I have got good ability. Now I need to repay them by showing exactly what I can do.
"I am confident I can do that and the more games I play the better and more confident I will get. I have got to take that into the season and just keep believing in myself.
"I feel I have done okay. "I have had a couple of run-outs and it is nice to get a few games. "I have been back a few weeks and I have been working hard to get a good base to hopefully take me through the season.
"It is a new start for me and I feel fit and doing the pre-season which I haven't been able to do over the last couple of years. "I had a good rest in the summer and I am back now and ready to go."
