Gillingham who travel to play Coventry City on Saturday, drew against Accrington Stanley in one of the League One games played this evening.
The game at Priestfield finished in a 0-0 draw leaving Gillingham just ahead of the relegation places.
None of the other games affected Coventry City's league position of eleventh in the table.
The big game of the tonight was the top of the table clash between Luton Town and Portsmouth with Luton winning 3-2, thanks to a brace from Cov kid James Collins.
Third placed Barnsley drew 2-2 at Oxford United for whom, former City youngster Josh Ruffles scored, with sixth placed Peterborough United drawing 2-2 at Bristol Rovers.
Blackpool, who beat the Sky Blues on Saturday, followed that up with a 2-2 draw at home to Wycombe Wanderers.
Bradford City beat Shrewsbury Town 4-3 in the other game with former City captain Jim O'Brien on target.
