With no game for the Sky Blues,some City supporters were in Israel to see England manage a 0-0 draw and others were at the newly modernised Wembley Stadium for the 3-3 draw with Italy.
Michael Mifsud played for Malta in a 1-1 draw at Moldova but did not score.
Andy Morrell scored for Blackpool in a 3-1 win at Bradford City. Ryan Lynch who was loaned to Tamworth did not even make the bench for the Lamb's 3-1 defeat at Weymouth. Former Sky Blues Michael Briscoe and Rikki Bains did play for Gary Mills side.
Locally, Rugby Town won 3-2 at Yate Town whilst Bedworth were held 1-1 at home by Rushall Olympic.
In the Midland Alliance,Leamington beat Barwell 3-2 with Ben Mackey netting twice. Third place Stratford Town won 3-2 at Loughborough,Racing Club Warwick drew 1-1 at Boldmere whilst Atherstone beat Causeway at home.
There was a massive game in the Midland Combination involving Coventry Sphinx who topped the table by one goal going into the game from second placed Highgate United.
Paul Charnley's side trailed to an 18th minute strike from Alan Sidimmon at The Coppice but levelled three minutes after the restart through a strike from the edge of the area by Jerome Murdock. Sphinx dominated the second half but left happy with the point.
Sphinx's next game is the Coventry Charity Cup Final at the Ricoh Arena v Dunlop on Tuesday night. Kick off 7.30pm.
The two other Coventry based sides in the Midland Combination Premier Division both lost. Copsewood were beaten 2-1 at Pershore whilst Massey Ferugson lost 1-2 at home to Continental Star. Nuneaton Griff won 2-0 at Barnt Green whilst Southam beat Meir 1-0.
Coventry Sphinx Reserves are through to the Challenge Vase Final with a 2-1 home win over Worcester City. Sphinx went through 3-1 on aggregate.
Elsewhere in the Midland Combination,Stockingford won 2-1 at Thimblemill Rec but Warwick Town were stuffed 5-0 at Continental Star Reserves.
