Coventry City defender James McPake was happy to play his part in the Sky Blues 3-0 win at Hinckley United last night.
"You obviously get a bit nervous before games but never normally when it's a game just for fitness," said McPake after playing his first match for seven months to Sky Blue Player.
"I don't know whether it was nerves because I didn't want to get injured again or because I just hadn't played for a while but it was good to get out there again and get some minutes under my belt.
"I don't want to waste a minute of pre-season, I want to use it to get as fit as I can as quick as I can and there will be another chance to do that at Kettering and hoepfully we can keep another clean sheet.
"As a defender, clean sheets are your bread and butter so we want to keep as many of them as we can."
