Julian Gray has said that he was pleased with his Coventry City debut at Northampton Town on Saturday. The winger signed from Birmingham City who is expected to play tonight against Glentoran told the CT: "I felt fine on my debut at Northampton.

"Obviously I would have liked to have stayed on the pitch longer but I got in a few days later than the other boys and I think the gaffer was just trying to save me, but it was really good to be out there again.

"It was good to play with my new teammates and go from the training ground into a game situation, so it has been good. "I have only been here a couple of weeks but I like what I have seen and we will gel in time.
"We didn't beat Northampton but I thought there were a lot of good things and I know there is a lot more to come. "We passed the ball well and kept possession well.

"We have got the two games in Northern Ireland and then it will be a different test against Espanyol. "Hopefully we will start getting a few good results but the most important one is to get the victory over Barnsley in the first game of the season, so we are all working toward that goal.

"It is all about people getting time on the pitch at the moment, which is the most important thing, and that will probably continue with a rotation until the last friendly, but you would have to ask the manager that.

"I am just enjoying being involved again and looking forward to the new season and hopefully being successful at Coventry."

A report from the game at the Oval tonight will appear on this site later.
