Crawley Town manager John Gregory has said that the off-the-field people have messed Coventry City up for its supporters.
Gregory, who has been a regular visitor to the city of Coventry through his musical connections with The Swains, told the Coventry Telegraph: “I would never have envisaged Coventry being where they are.
“They are a fantastic football club with a great history and tradition. “They were members of the top flight for such a long time and in these situations you think of the fans as they still turn up and pay their money. “It’s not their fault they are playing at Northampton at the moment – it’s the off-the-field people who have messed it up for supporters.
“They would love to see themselves back in the Premier League one day and that can happen – they have done amazingly well to get themselves back from all the problems they have had off the field.
“They’ve been very entertaining, a free-scoring team who have won a lot of points and taken a few scalps along the way. It will be tough game for us but we’ll have dusted ourselves down by then and be ready for the fight.”
