Half Time Incident Being Investigated

Coventry City have confirmed that the investigations are underway regarding an incident during the half-time interval at City's game with Cheltenham Town on Saturday.

The incident was between a steward and a City supporter with a child and was discussed at the post match debriefing meeting with the police and other agencies including security staff from the Ricoh Arena, at the Ricoh Arena on Tuesday morning, attended by CEO David Boddy and Mark Hornby on behalf of CCFC, where cctv footage of the incident was viewed by those present.

Regarding the incident, City said in a statement: "Coventry City and the Ricoh Arena are aware of reports of an incident at half-time during the game against Cheltenham Town on Saturday 16th December.

“There is both an internal and police investigation into the actions of all parties, and as such we cannot make any further comment at this time.”

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We can confirm that a report has been made to police about an incident that took place at the Coventry v Cheltenham match. Investigations are on-going.”
