Coventry City defender Marcus Hall is looking to be part of the City squad.

The Coventrian, plays this morning in a practice game against Aston Villa after injuring his foot thanks to a Kevin Kyle tackle in training and wants to be involved in the games against Bristol City on Saturday and Newcastle United next Tuesday.

Said Hall to the CT and the club website: "The pre-season had gone well and I had played decently. I am not saying I would have been in the team but I wanted to play a part.

"When you are experienced, you get an inkling of how the manager views his starting line-up, and I am sure he largely knew his team. But it is a squad game and you never know what might happen.

"Hopefully I will come through okay and will be fit to be involved in the squad."

On the two upcoming home matches, the 32 year old former Stoke Park Pupil said: "Having Bristol City and Newcastle in four days will provide us with a real test of how far we have come, but it should also be a great weekend for the supporters

"I am sure Newcastle will put out a strong side - they are unlikely to win the league but could well go far in one of the cup competitions.

"They are probably the biggest team to have come to the Ricoh in a competitive game since we moved here and it would be great to have close to a full house."
