Coleman stopped his forwards from talking to the media ahead of the game against Derby County and has been harsh towards them for not taking their chances but was very pleased when Clinton Morrison hit a late equaliser on Saturday.
"You could see by Clinton's celebration at how pleased he was to get his goal but I don't know who was celebtarting the most, me or him," said Chris Coleman to the club website.
"I was really pleased for him because I've been a little bit harsh on our strikers because I know what they're capable of.
"Strikers are a bit different to everyone else. They have a different character and our strikers have been a bit down in the dumps recently because with the chances we've created. they should have scored more goals because they have the ability to score more goals.
"But we stuck at it and you could see the lads were delighted for Clinton when he scored and hopefully we can go on from there.
"Beforehand there was a little bit of a lack of self belief in certain areas of the pitch and we looked a bit narrow because with Tabbsy and Leon McKenzie out we have no natural wingers.
"But it was a gutsy performance, the lads tried to get the ball down and pass it around. They sometimes gave the ball away in cheap areas but they kept at it and they deserved their goal."
