Hartlepool United manager John Hughes was left bemused at his sending off at half time of his side's 1-0 defeat at Coventry City.
Hughes had to spent the second half in the stand and on the final whistle had to be kept back by stewards before he was allowed to speak to the referee Fred Graham.
Speaking to Pools Player, Hughes said;"I've been In the game a long time and I've been sent off before, and I dare say that today won't be the last time.
"But I was shocked surprised at why I got sent-off today; I was cool, calm and didn't use any foul or abusive language - I just said 'There are livelihoods at stake, I hope you've got that right' and he took offence to it."
