The Hawkesbury Residents Association have made their feelings known after rumours that Coventry City are planning to build a new stadium on the former Hawkesbury golf course site, came out yesterday.
Lynne Price of the Hawkesbury Residents Association, told the Coventry Telegraph's Simon Gilbert: "They would have a lot of people up in arms. I would be chained up in front of the bull dozers.
"There would be nothing but objections despite the money and jobs it would generate.
"We will be keeping a strong eye on this and have written to the council, landowners and football club.
"Previous application for housing was rejected and I think a football stadium would be completely unsuitable.
"The one thing that seems to be forogtten in all of this is the supporters and it is a shame that it has come to this when there is a perfectly good stadium just down the road."
