According to a press release by the Stellar Group, the deal to sign Matt Heath from Leicester has been completed.
The release reads:
"Former Leicester City defender Matt Heath has joined Coventry City on a two-year deal following the agreement of a fee between the two clubs. The 24 year-old was previously managed by current Sky Blues boss Micky Adams at the Walkers Stadium and has been one of Coventry's main transfer targets this summer.
Matt began his career at Leicester City, making his first team debut in September 2001 in the 2-0 defeat at Charlton. He made six appearances in his first season in the Premiership, but Leciester suffered relegation. The following year the 6' 4" centre-half made ten appearances in Division One and four in cup competitions.
He began the following season on loan at Stockport County but returned to Leicester just after Christmas and made fifteen appearances in the Premiership as the club once again suffered relegation from the top flight. Last season Matt made 22 League appearances for the Foxes, including the 1-1 draw against Coventry at Highfield Road in October. He joins fellow former Foxes player James Scowcroft in making the move across the Midlands to the new Ricoh Stadium.
Matt was pleased with the move and especially the prospect of joining up again with manager Micky Adams: "It is very exciting for me. Apart from my loan spell at Stockport, Leicester is the only club I have played at and I thought the time was right for a change. Both clubs are very similar, both have Premier League set-ups and and I am really looking forward to working for Micky Adams again. Although I had offers from a few clubs, the chance of working for Micky again helped me make up my mind.
"Now I can't wait to get started with pre-season training and meeting up with the rest of the squad. We have a trip to Ibiza for a tournament next week and that will be an excellent chance to get to know everyone a bit better.
"Obviously the new stadium is also something I am looking forward to seeing. I saw the effect it had at Leicester, it certainly gives the players and fans a lift and I am sure the effect will be the same at Coventry."
