Former Coventry City loanee Jordan Henderson played for England U21's in the second leg of their European U21 Championship Play-off match in Romania.

England took a 2-1 lead thanks to a goal from Henderson into the second leg at Botosani and the winger who now plays for Sunderland every week, had a couple of chances as Stuart Pearce's side earned a 0-0 draw which was enough to book their place in the finals next year.

Another former City loanee Jack Cork picked up his eighth England U21 cap when he came on as an 81st minute substitute whilst former City Academy youngster Danny Sturridge played for 62 minutes before being substituted.
