Lee Hendrie could follow in his uncle John's footsteps and play for Coventry City. The midfielder has spent twelve years at Aston Villa and is expected to meet his agent tomorrow to sort out his future.
Hendrie Could Follow
Said Hendrie to the Villa official website: "My future is in their hands and I want something concrete sorted by Friday, so hopefully I will know where I stand after then.
"Milan Mandaric is ambitious to take Leicester back to the Premiership and they are a big club, as are Coventry, so it's nice to be linked with them. "If my agent rings me tomorrow with something worthwhile, then great. "I've never been in this situation before - I've always has a year or two left on my contract and signed an extension, so this is a new experience.
But what clubs will be getting from me is a hungry player on a free transfer, so I'm hoping I'm in a good position for clubs to be interested."
Those clubs reported to be interested also include Stoke City for whom the 30 year old was loaned to last season. Wage demands may put off a lot of interest with Hendrie's representatives believed to be looking for a deal in excess of £20k per week, way inexcess of City's current budget which sees most players on or around the £8k a week mark.
