Kendall had laid in an unmarked grave at Stoke St Michaels Church on Walsgrave Road, Coventry until Coventry City Club Historian Lionel Bird discovered this and launched an appeal to raise funds for a headstone.
This was unveiled on June 4th 2004 and today on the anniversary of his death, flowers were laid to remember Herbert and the good work he did in those early days to unite football supporters across the country and for those in Coventry to have a better say in the running of Coventry City, by Lionel Bird and Kev Monks who is a Vice President Of the Football Supporters Federation.
