Iain Dowie is in the High Court today contesting a law suit issued against him by Crystal Palace Chairman Simon Jordan. Mr Jordan has accused the City boss of fraudulent misrepresentation.

Now Iain Dowie is alleged to have had a clause in his Palace contract which said that if he left to join another club, this new club would pay The Eagles £1m. However, the Palace Chairman said that as a gesture of good will, the clause was waived due to Dowie wanting to move nearer to his family in Bolton.

Eight days after walking out of Selhurst Park, Dowie was appointed manager of Charlton Athletic some seven miles northish and a writ was served at the Press Conference to announce Dowie's appointment to a job that he was later sacked from, some fifteen matches later.
