Former Manchester City Academy striker Jordy Hiwula said that he wanted to get to Coventry as quickly as possible to sign for the Sky Blues.
The striker has joined on a two year deal after City paid his former club Huddersfield Town an undisclosed fee.
Hiwula told City's club website about his move: “It feels really good to get the deal all done, we got it done pretty quick.
“As soon as I heard of the interest I wanted to get down here as quick as possible and get to know everyone and get settled right away.
“I spoke to the manager before I signed, and everything was really positive and it made me feel like I could come here and show what I can do.
“I’m looking forward to the competition with the other strikers.
“Everywhere I’ve been I’ve had that competition and it’s good to have that and it keeps everyone on their toes.”
Hiwula might have played for Huddersfield but does have League One experience with Walsall, Bradford City and Fleetwood Town and said:
“I want to first of all get in the team and then once I’m in the team I want to stay there.
“I think we have got a big season ahead and we need to compete in this league and I don’t see why we can’t do that.
“I’ve played for some good teams in League One before and I think we have to be hard to break down and everyone needs to pull through and try and do as well as we can.
“From me the fans can expect hard work and dedication, I will give my all every time I go out on the pitch.”
